The steakhouse at Disney's Yacht Club Resort has reopened after a refurbishment. A 10-ounce American Wagyu New York strip has joined the Butcher's Cuts list at $83.
Yachtsman Steakhouse is open again at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, and there is a new steak on the dinner menu. The 10-oz American Wagyu New York Strip Steak costs $83. Like the other Butcher's Cuts, it comes with a side and a sauce you pick yourself.
Wagyu was already available here before the refurbishment. You had to order it as a paid upgrade on the regular New York strip, and the menu only mentioned it in passing. Now it has its own line, its own price and its own allergy details.
Two starters also got fuller descriptions. The shrimp cocktail is poached in white wine and served with cocktail sauce and grilled lemon. The wedge salad comes with double-smoked candied bacon, a soft-poached egg, radish and a four-month aged blue cheese dressing.
Neither plate has changed. The menu just spells out what is on it.
The Wagyu steak. Disney's allergy-friendly menu lists it without gluten and wheat, egg, fish and shellfish, peanut and tree nut, sesame, or soy. Dairy is the exception, and the plate shows why. It arrives with a loaded baked potato and a brandy-peppercorn sauce.
Low-FODMAP, keto and paleo. The potato and the sauce also keep it off the low-FODMAP list. Two things are in the way rather than one, so no single request to the kitchen fixes it. It is fine for paleo as it comes. Ask for a salad or a green vegetable instead of the potato and it works for keto and low-carb too.
The shrimp cocktail. The menu now says the shrimp is poached in white wine. The old wording did not. That is worth knowing if you avoid alcohol.
The wedge salad. Disney now calls the blue cheese a dressing rather than a vinaigrette. A dressing carries more dairy than a vinaigrette does, so we no longer suggest this salad for a mild lactose intolerance. If dairy is a problem for you, pick something else.
