Refreshment Outpost joins the Food & Wine Festival

The Epcot World Showcase stand has a festival menu. A plant-based Sweet Potato Mealie Pap is the food item at $5.79, with a peach wheat ale, two hard ciders and a whisky cocktail beside it.

The Sweet Potato Mealie Pap comes with a stew of beans, peppers, carrots and tomatoes. Disney marks it as a 30th anniversary legacy item.

The drinks are a Breckenridge Palisade Peach Wheat Ale, a 3 Daughters Cinnamon Donut Hard Cider and a Coppertail Cherry Cola Hard Cider, at $12.50 each. A Midnight Safari cocktail with Mansas African whisky is $17.50.

DOLE Whip in a Cone is $6.29 in pineapple, watermelon or swirl. The waffle-cone soft-serve and the unnamed seasonal beer have come off.

If you're avoiding something

The Mealie Pap. Plant-based and vegan. It is built on sweet potato and beans, so it is a starchy plate rather than a low-carb one.

The ciders. Both are made from apples rather than grain. The peach ale is a wheat beer.
